Job Description
Day to day responsibilities:
- Collect, maintain, and report data on attendance and course completion according to department guidelines.
- Schedule courses; establish/maintain relationships with internal SMEs and external vendors; meet and support SMEs/Vendors on the day of course offerings; assist participants
- Prepare, organize, and edit course material, ensuring compliance with company/department standards.
- Effectively operate classroom technology to support classes, webinars, and meetings.
- Analyze course effectiveness based on post-training evaluations, observations, and student feedback, and identify areas of improvement and/or opportunities for enhancements.
- Proactively identify, develop, and help lead improvements to ensure effective and efficient processes.
- Keep abreast of training industry best practices, along with computing and IT skills, to make recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain a safety-conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
- May train and mentor others in work processes and procedures.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills / Attributes:
- Typically possesses seven or more years of experience delivering or delivering and developing training.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Instructional Design, Business, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience delivering training to technical audiences
- Demonstrated ability to communicate both technical and non-technical material in a readily understandable manner.
- Knowledge of modern training techniques and tools in technical subjects
- Broad knowledge of training project management principles utilizing the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) and the ADDIE training methodology.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Outstanding communication skills and comfortable speaking to crowds
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across the organization with various stakeholders
- Experience evaluating alternative modes of training delivery, such as in-person or virtual to optimize training effectiveness
Desired Skills / Attributes:
- Prior utility experience
- Ability to work with cross-functional workgroups.
- Utilize creativity when developing training materials via new training platforms.
- Understanding of organizational change management (OCM) methodologies.
