Our team
Our headoffice in Rotterdam is a lively environment where we work with about 150 people and about 30 different nationalities. Our global Procurement function is a team of about 45. The Juices team of 13 covers a spend of over €450 mln in Citrus, Tropicals, Fruit blends, Apple, Stone fruits, Grapes and vegetables. Global Procument is split into 4 categories, each led by a Head of Procurement. There is a team of over 12 vibrant and energetic Contract Officers supporting the different categories. We have a multinational team who have a set of strong capabilities complementing each other to drive our challenging objectives to a success.
The Central team leverages the scale of our global company on the market, ensuring optimal stock and delivery management in terms of quantity, quality and pricing. We pro-actively and intensely exchange information with the Business Units for value engineering purposes; informing them with timely and up to date market and supply chain data and acquiring product information and innovation input. We add value by driving synergies, following up on claims & complaints with suppliers.
Due to an internal promotion, we now have a vacancy for a:
Global Procurement Manager
You will report to the Head of Procurement who is responsible for the global Juices category. The team will consist of four CPM’s, responsible for a subcategory each, two Team coordinators and 8 Contract Officers supporting the category.
Your role
- Build and maintain strong relationships with global supplier and senior executives;
- Organise regular meetings with suppliers and internal stakeholders to discuss potential inefficiencies, issues, improvement opportunities;
- Challenge BU management on the cost and specifications of their requirements;
- Ensure alignment with internal stakeholders regarding strategic and tactical procurement issues, decision making processes etc.;
- Develop, implement performance monitoring tools and defining and monitoring KPI’s;
- Act as single person of contact for suppliers for strategic/global issues and solving potential internal conflict of interest;
- Follow supply and demand within relevant markets and industries across the value chain;
- Identify opportunities & trends in the market that may have an impact on the purchasing of goods & services;
- Indicate risks which could influence the availability and/or price movements of products and adequately assesses the potential consequences;
- Ensure the consolidation of suppliers’ reviews and prepares continuous improvement plans in collaboration with relevant stakeholders;
- Present and communicate the 3 year plan of the subcategory to the Board and other stakeholders;
- Know the internal needs for Procurement, also via own insights coming from business developments, the overall business process within the Business Units (BU).
- Ensure regular information delivery about suppliers, market developments, usage of procurement agreements towards Group Director Purchasing, BU Purchasing managers, BU management team members, executive board and other stakeholders
- Discuss and negotiates the final contracts with the selected suppliers, agreeing on best prices & conditions and minimizing risks;
- Ensure creation, formulation and finalization of contracts;
- Monitor effectiveness of contracts and supplier performance and follows up on deviations.
Your profile
- You have a Master degree in Business Economics / Administration, Agriculture studies or Technical / Chemical studies
- You have at least 5 years of working experience in procurement/as a buyer
- You are commercial, analytical, pragmatic and love a dynamic and ambitious environment
- Experience in the food/beverages/agri industry as a buyer;
- You have excellent English speaking and writing skills and preferably one additional European language
- Are you flexible and willing to travel internationally on a frequent basis?
- You are eager to work in an informal and entrepreneurial environment in a fast-growing company
