Under the general direction of the Director, the Assistant Director for the Ralph J. Bunche Center for African American Studies (Bunche Center) will serve as the lead on research, events, community relations, and outreach programs for the center. The Assistant Director will provide supervision and coordination of intramural and extramural funding and research activities. In addition, the Assistant Director will also provide administrative guidance and support to the Director and Manager, and represent the Bunche Center as needed at University and community meetings and functions.Percentage of Time:

Required/Preferred
Graduate degree in the social sciences with 3 - 5 years of related experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of research design, conduct, and data analysis.

Demonstrated ability to develop and conduct independent program of research.

Familiarity with computing, including statistical analysis.
Preferred
Demonstrated success in acquiring external funds to support research activities.

Exceptional writing skills and demonstrated scholarly productivity in the form of published writings.
