Engineer, Drilling Fluid and Cement

Job Purpose
Engineer, Drilling Fluid and Cement is responsible for providing technical support in the areas of drilling fluids, cementing and waste management. The jobholder conducts drilling fluids / cement studies to improve drilling performance.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide engineering design and review engineering practices and methods regarding to drilling fluids and cement
- Conduct engineering studies and give recommendation on new technology/methodology and optimization related to drilling fluids and cement
- Provide technical advice and consultation to solve or mitigate operational problems related to drilling fluids and cement during execution phase
- Act as Technical Authority (TA) for MOCs, in compliance with SSHE and Well Management System requirements
- Prepare and update the standards / instructions concerning drilling fluids and cement to ensure safe and efficient operations
- Serve as Contract Holder to initiate bidding and/or negotiating for drilling fluids and cement services as well as prepare and manage contracts in compliance with Company's Procurement Process and SSHE Contractor Management Standard
- Liaise with third party drilling fluids / cementing laboratories for specific studies
- Contribute to the optimization and the cost reduction of drilling activities while maintaining a high level of safety and avoiding any pollution.
- Prepare other drilling engineering studies when necessary under the supervision of Drilling Manager
- Ensure that drilling operations activities are performed in accordance with relevant company's SSHE MS requirements
Professional Knowledge & Experiences
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 3-year of experience in various types of Drilling Fluid System in various areas in a supervisory capacity
- Knowledge of performance optimization, supplier management, and materials procurement, service contracts, and SSHE for drilling operations
- Good command of both written and spoken English
- Analytical (Power BI / Python / Machine Learning and AI), and interpersonal skill is Preferred
